Exciting Arty Times for Krista

Updated: Oct 21, 2025

I’ll be experiencing some bucket list/if-I’m-dreaming-don’t-wake-me-up times over the next month, so I wanted to briefly plug them and to let you know that A LOT of pictures and/or videos of these experiences will be here on my website!

At the time of this typing, in 3 days, I will be checking off a bucket list item by spending time at the Pollock-Krasner House & Study Center. Part of the tour is going to the barn where Jackson Pollock did many of his drip paintings and where Lee Krasner began to work after Jackson’s death. Both of them are also buried at the cemetery nearby, so I will absolutely be paying my respects there, too.

AND, on Friday evening, November 8, I will be at the opening reception for the Ten By Ten Show at the Jackson Junge Gallery where 2 of my paintings were recently accepted. This show will be the first time my work has been in a gallery outside of the Indianapolis area, and I adore Chicago (yes, I’m including time at the Art Institute - obviously!),  so I’ll be on Cloud 9 for days!

If you would’ve told me a year ago that either one of these opportunities were going to be a part of my life, I might have considered offering you some prime swamp land to buy. That fact that BOTH of these are happening to me within the course of a month still have me periodically shaking my head in astonishment. I cannot wait to share my experiences with you, and I so appreciate your continued support!

I’ve been following Krista and her amazing work for a while now and loved everything she created. They are always full of energy, and color and even attitude. As a former art director I knew I had to have one of my own. The only problem and its really NOT a

problem is that most were large scale works. I don’t have enough wall space! But when talking to Krista after viewing a specific piece, she made a promise, that she would create a piece similar in technique but of a smaller scale. I was thrilled.

And so, she presented me with this stunning abstract

expressionist piece that she titled as “Rew’s Sky”. It’s beautiful, full of energy like the artist herself and I love it. I’ve already received quite a few compliments regarding the work as now it’s hanging in a perfect location - our living room - to be gazed upon

for many years.

Krista was able to create a one of a kind for us. I know that she will do that for you as well.
