Bucket List... Check and Check!

Updated: Apr 30, 2025

If you follow me on social media, and if you aren’t, why aren’t you? I’m on Facebook, Twitter (for now), Instagram, and Bluesky. Anyway, if you follow me on social media, you already know I’ve been doing some traveling and might be wondering why I haven’t blogged about it here. Well, it’s all about timing.

The first bucket list journey I completed was time this past October in Jackson Pollock/Lee Krasner country in Springs Long Island including their house, the studio, the cemetery where they’re buried, etc. It was more wonderful than I possibly could’ve imagined and overwhelming in a great way.

It took time for me to absorb the experience of being in Springs, and by the time I was ready to blog about it, I found out I was going to be able to go to Mexico City (bucket list item 2), and finding out about that trip is a story of its own! Mexico City was an adventure - my first time in a foreign country not Canada, trying to learn enough Spanish to not be an ugly American, etc. My time there was insanely glorious and gloriously insane…including 3 1/2 hours in the house Frida Kahlo was born in and died in.

Be assured blogs about each of these trips WILL BE COMING soon. For now, here are a few pictures from both trips.

I’ve been following Krista and her amazing work for a while now and loved everything she created. They are always full of energy, and color and even attitude. As a former art director I knew I had to have one of my own. The only problem and its really NOT a

problem is that most were large scale works. I don’t have enough wall space! But when talking to Krista after viewing a specific piece, she made a promise, that she would create a piece similar in technique but of a smaller scale. I was thrilled.

And so, she presented me with this stunning abstract

expressionist piece that she titled as “Rew’s Sky”. It’s beautiful, full of energy like the artist herself and I love it. I’ve already received quite a few compliments regarding the work as now it’s hanging in a perfect location - our living room - to be gazed upon

for many years.

Krista was able to create a one of a kind for us. I know that she will do that for you as well.
