Auction for Ukraine

What’s happening in Ukraine is an ugly, overwhelmingly cruel humanitarian crisis. When I hear such atrocities as buildings with huge signs that say children are inside were bombed; that a maternity hospital had come under attack; that a mother was compelled to write her information on her daughter’s body so they’d be able to find each other if separated… my heart breaks.

The circumstances have driven me to the canvas, to paint the pain and the raw emotion this war on innocents elicits in me. Beyond expressing my feelings by painting them, my natural response to such a horrific situation is to want to help the most vulnerable affected by it. That’s the motivation behind this initiative: an auction for Ukraine.

Here’s the deal: I’ve painted two Ukraine-themed pieces that I’m auctioning, with 20% of the proceeds to be donated to UNICEF to support the children of Ukraine suffering through this ordeal.

I hope the paintings touch you and that you’re moved to make them yours while supporting UNICEF’s efforts to bring aid and comfort.
